Originally from Malaysia, she moved to upstate NY three years ago for her B.S. in Communication and a minor in film at Cornell University. Between the two programs, she interned at Planet Films where she worked on several nationwide commercials. Aishy then spent a summer in Bali creating mini documentaries for social entrepreneurs. Upon moving to USC, she has decided to focus on producing and cinematography.
Aishy’s passion for films started at a very young age. She used to make stop-motion animated shorts on Microsoft PowerPoint.
She has DP-ed several projects in and out of school. Aishy has worked as a a development intern at Participant Media for their Narrative Film and TV Departments. Her tasks included reading scripts, doing coverage and contributing in weekly meetings. She will be working with the Development department at Fox Searchlight this fall.
Aishy is very passionate about films with a social message and help move society forward. She believes films have the power to change an individual’s perception and opinion and that we as filmmakers must use this for the greater good of society. She wishes to make more films about women, the foster system, and exploring mental illnesses.
